Snapture Labs is proud to announce a new trial program for Snapture Premium. With today’s release of Snapture Version 2.1 (compatible with firmwares 1.1.1-1.1.4 and 2.0, 2.1) each user of the free version of the app will be given 10 trial sessions of Snapture Premium up to while supplies last (1,000,000 trials total). This will give all users the ability to try the revolutionary new QuickView system first hand and we’re confident that you’ll fall in love with it.

In addition to the new trial program, we’ve also fixed quite a few bugs and have added a couple new beta color modes that we hope you’ll like. Read more about the Snapture Million Challenge.

Snapture 2.0 Released

Hey Everyone,

We’ve been dark for a solid 2 months now but alas the day is here. We’re proud to announce the availability of Snapture 2.0 for original and 3g jailbroken iPhones supporting firmwares 1.1.x to 2.x. We’ve worked really hard on this release and we think you’re going to love it. We hope you’ll be convinced that Snapture 2.0 is the way mobile photography was meant to be.

There’s a bunch of new things in release. We’ve dramatically clean up the user interface and made it easier to select various modes. We’ve switched from a zoom bar to a multitouch gesture based (pinch/stretch) system. There’s two new color modes, Sepia and Negative which are pretty cool. You can also set Snapture to be the home button double tap app as well. While these upgrades which are free to all are cool, they are nothing compared to the QuickView system that’s available in the Premium version of Snapture 2.0. While hard to describe, QuickView allows you to instantly see the photos that you’ve captured within Snapture thus eliminating unnecessary visits to the CameraRoll. Snapture version 1.4 has been out in the wild for a little over a month now. Since release there’s been about a quarter million downloads from users all around the world. That’s pretty amazing. There’s nothing we enjoy more than receiving email from our users telling us how they used our product to improve the picture taking experience on the iPhone.

That being said, we just wanted to let everyone know that we’ve been busy coding up a new version of Snapture (code named ‘Sugar High’). We think that you’ll really love this upcoming release and hope that you’ll upgrade when it comes out in a few weeks. C’mon everyone, tell your friends to go get Snapture. We’re not going to be satisfied until every iPhone has our app installed.

Snapture v1.4 Released

Snapture version 1.4 for the Apple iPhone has just been released. We’ve added a new adjustable timer feature in addition to fixing a couple of bugs such as ’settings sometimes reset’ and ‘thumbnails are squished instead of cropped’ when viewed in Camera Roll. You might also notice that the touch screen snap feels a bit different. That’s because the new version of Snapture now captures the image when your finger leaves the screen. We’ve found that this allows you to stabilize the iPhone when taking photos which ultimately allows you to take better shots. The other thing that we’ve added in this release is a direct link to our blog www.snaptured.com which we hope will evolve into a site where Snapture users and photo aficionados from the world over will send us unique images and stories. We’ve already had some great content posted by some of our friends but we really want to see what you’re seeing and experiencing wherever you may be. It’s easy to send us content. Just fire an email to submit@snaptured.com. Hopefully there will be a more integrated way to do this in an upcoming release.

For those who still can’t see Snapture under ‘Utilities’, make sure you install ‘Community Sources’ from the ‘Sources’ category first. Whether you’re using Installer or Cydia, go grab the latest version of Snapture from the Big Boss repository.
